The wife is a carer in the community, and she had 3 hours work this evening, so while the cats away I thought I'd take the oppurtunity to drown the few worms I had left over from Saturday.
With only 3 hours I decided to fish local, but with the tide on the ebb I was limited on venues, so decided to try castle point East-Cowes.
not a place I've fished often as normally the weed is so bad it makes fishing impossible, but I thought I'd give it a try as its reasonably deep water.
Bait was in the water by 6pm, 2 hook flapper with worm and a clip down with sandeel.
After 10 minutes I had a knock then the rod continued to rattle for 5 minutes, so thought I'd have a look and in came a Rockling.
A little while later I followed this up with another one, a couple more gentle bites and it was time to come home.
Not my longest of sessions, but watching my rods rattle was a lot more fun than sitting at home in the warm watching tele, and 2 more fish to add to my collection.
