Last 2 weeks

Friday evening 6th April was the island forum comp held at Brook beach, a shallow beach, but can produce some good fish, unfortunately with a full moon and clear skies it wasn't going to be easy.

Sure enough in five hours we landed nothing, and the comp was won with a 6oz rockling.

The folowing evening Mick and I headed off to chale, as dusk fell Mick had this nice Ray.

Not large but a good start, but again the moon was up and that was the only fish of the night, and that was 3 blanks in a row for me.

Friday 13th, Mick and I headed back to chale, no moon so we were hopeful.

The sea was calm no wind and as usual stunning scenery and sunset.

As Dusk fell Mick had the first bite and in came the first ray of the night going 5lb 9oz

Soon after I had a good take and this felt a better fish, but I lost it about 10ft out.
Mick soon after again was in with one of 2lb 11oz

And then finally I landed one of 3lb 8oz

By this time it was low and things went quiet, but as the tide started to flood Mick again was in with one of 4lb 3oz

An hour later I landed the 5th ray of the night with this one of 5lb 14oz.

Apart from the Rays we also had 3 doggies and 3 pout, we called it a night around 2am as we both had work the folowing day, but a good night for a change.
