Off at last

Friday night after such a gorgeous day there was only one possible venue, Chale and here's why.

I was set up by 6pm, sandeel on clip down rigs and cast as far as possible.
The weather was still glorious and I was treated to a typical Chale sunset.

It was getting dusk so at 7pm decided I'd check the baits ready for dark, but before I could touch the rod I had several pull rounds and I struck, There was a good weight on the end, but could possibly be a Doggie curled up, as they do. As the the fish neared the beach though it started to swim to the left, doggies don't do that, they come in like a sack of potatoes, and sure enough my first Ray of the year, a small eyed of 5b exactly.

Weighed and photo'd I slipped him back.
Well I was hoping for a good night after that early success, but alas it wasn't to be with only the odd pout or doggie coming in.
With the tide on the ebb and no bites I called it a night around 2pm.

Off out again tonight for another go. Wink
