Wightfishing open day

Went to the wightfishing open day with the wife on Sunday.
Was a lovely day for it with warm sunshine. Signed in and picked up a rod and settled down on the middle pond. Bait was maggots, it didn't take long and my 1st species was landed a small Roach.

There was carp coming out all round but all the wife and I could catch was Roach, then we managed to scrounge some bread and used this on the surface and I was into a common carp, small but another species.

Then the wife had a better one at 2lb 4oz.

Well we stayed till 3.30am catching many more, though the wife had more fish and the heaviest, reminding me why I don't take her, especially shore fishing.
A thoroughly enjoyable day, well organised and well attended.
