We all have them, one of those nights that starts badly and just gets worse.
Saturday after checking the weather a dozen times, light winds and dry, Yeah Right!
5.20pm I was on my way to pick Nick up, the venue was Atherfield, after all the storms of late thought it would fish well.
Got three quarters of the way there then realised I'd left my bait, phone and camera at home!!!!!
Quick turn around and back for it, so was 20 minutes late picking Nick up, good start.
We got to Atherfield and was set up by 7pm, just in time for the rain to start, Bugger!
There was still a big surf running and small amounts of that red weed that sticks to line like super glue, still it was very dark and we were confident.
Well the surf got bigger causing the rods to endlessy bounce, so spotting a bite was almost impossible.
By 1.30am we'd had enough, not so much as a nibble, dropped Nick home and went and had another hour locally same result, big fat blank for both of us.
