The wife was working till 8pm then would be watching her soaps, which she'd recorded, when she got home and some how I didn't fancy that.
So grabbing a pack of sandeels and mackeral I was back down yaverland, and the baits were in the water by 7pm.
A calm sea and the moon was still big and bright and it was bloody chilly.
Well I didn't have to wait long for the first bite 7.40pm and the rod gets pulled hard round, there was some weight there but it wasn't doing a lot, but as I pulled it through the gentle surf a pair of beady eyes shone back at me, and a small eyed ray was landed, going 2lb 12oz.
Well I fished on till 10.30pm but with only one more bite I called it a night.
As I said better than watching the soaps.
