Stuggling to find the fish
Friday was very windy so that meant alot of venues were out, so after picking up some ragworm and hermit crab I headed off to Gurnard in search of Sole and Smut.
Arrived to find the local sailing club were all out sailing in front of the beach so headed back to Cowes till dark.Arrived and was set up by 8pm.
Clip down rig with hermit on one rod and a 2 hook flapper went out on the 2nd. Almost straight away I started getting bites on worm and my reward a nice black bream albeit a small one, still first one of the year.
Cast back out but the weed then started to run hard and in large quantities, so packing up back to Gurnard, the sailing club had packed up so the beach was mine.
Same rigs went out.
Just gone 9pm I was joined by Lighty the weed was still here but not quite as bad.
Darkness arrived but the fish didn't.
By 4am and dawn well and truely arrived I'd managed 3 silver eels the biggest about 2lb and 2 schoolies, just started packing away when my half a bluey was grabbed and the rod lurged round striking I missed the bloody fish, waited all night for a decent fish and miss it!
Well gave it a while longer but to know avail so called it a night just gone 4.30am.
