After weeks of up and down Chale cliffs, we'd heard that Atherfield was fishing well, so decided to give that a go Friday evening.
We arrived and was set up by 7.30pm the sea was flat calm but crystal clear.
A few small shoals of mackeral were about but too far out to cast to.
Well we fished all distances using all manners of baits, 7 rods and by 3am we'd had 2 Pout and I managed this, an 8oz 5 bearded rockling.
After the previous nights fishing I was left unsatisfied so got permission for a few hours Saturday, so Yaverland was my venue, I was set up by 8.30pm.
A 2 hook flapper on one rod and a clip down with sandeel.
Bites started as soon as it got dark with at first Pout then school Bass the largest being just under 2lb.
Last cast on worm I managed a new species this small starry smut.
I fished till 1am but with the tide on the ebb I called it a night. Nothing Large but it was nice to see the rods move.
