A couple fot the species list

Not been out for 48 hours so had to have a go, arrived at fort Vic for 6pm, unusually there was no one else there, must have been the strong wind and rain.
From the off I was getting small rattles on the 2 hook flapper with Rag tipped with a slither of Squid.
First cast and a Pout came in.

I was even getting some good knocks on the other rod which was whole Squid on a pennel.

Another rattle on the flapper resulted in my 3rd species of Rockling of the year, a 5 bearded.

The rattles continued but couldn't connect, then I had a good take on the squid, struck and felt a good weight and the fish shook it head violently, got it half way in then was snagged, couldn't get it out despite using a rotten bottom, eventually lost the lot, the air turned blue.
Re rigged and cast out but by now the tide was running and the weed was in, so time to go.
Half hour later I was at Cowes same rigs and bait. Things were a lot quieter here, but eventually had a rattle and landed another 5 beard rockling. Just before 10pm I had one tug on the flapper then nothing, left it 5 minutes then reeled in to check the bait and was rewarded with my 3rd new species of the night, a small Pollock.

10.30pm with the tide running hard and the weed now running too I called it a night, despite the wind and rain it was worth the effort with 3 new species.
