A small cove, flanked by chalk cliffs and stacks. It is easily accessible and provides a variety of fishing. There is a pub and a cafe at the western end of the bay.
During daylight hours casting from the wall in front of the lifeboat station or from the extreme eastern end of the bay can produce wrasse.Use crab or ragworm bait, but crab tends to attract the larger fish.
There is very little tidal flow in the bay,so tackle can be light, and some prefer to float fish when conditions allow it.Mullet can often be seen cruising along the beach and seem to be attracted to the wall in front of the Albion hotel.Use bread or a small piece of Mackerel.
After dark pout, rockling and silver eels can be taken but most locals concentrate on Bass fishing.Numerous fish over ten pounds have been taken from all parts of the bay but invariably when conditions have been rough. As well as Bass, conger up to 30lbs,have been taken here.
